What if an invasive rodent could tell us which chemicals circulate in our environment, and potentially reach our food? LIGER-EXPO uses the coypu (Myocastor coypus) as a sentinel species to characterise exposure to pesticides, POPs, PFAS and emerging contaminants across the Pays de la Loire region, within a One Health framework. You will: ▪️ develop targeted and non-targeted LC/GC-HRMS methods for internal matrices (liver, adipose tissue) ▪️ evaluate non-invasive matrices (hair, claws) as biomonitoring proxies; the analytical development of PFAS in hair and claws will be carried out by a co-supervised M2 intern ▪️ link contamination profiles to landscape data; the GIS characterisation of sampling sites (QGIS) will be handled by a second co-supervised M2 intern ▪️ coordinate both internships and integrate their results into the overall exposome analysis ▪️ take an active part in public engagement and science communication (European Researchers' Night, Fête de la Science, school visits, "Ma thèse en 180 secondes", Échosciences Pays de la Loire…) 🤝 Partners: VetAgroSup/INRAE RS2GP, BIOEPAR (Oniris/INRAE), POLLENIZ (FREDON Pays de la Loire) 💶 Funding: Région Pays de la Loire & Oniris VetAgroBio 🌍 Opportunity for a research stay in a partner lab abroad (encouraged and supported, but optional) 👤 Profile: Master's degree in analytical, environmental or food chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical sciences, with hands-on mass spectrometry experience. Skills in R are a plus. An interest in science communication is welcome. 📅 Application deadline: 25 October 2026 🗣️ Interviews: 1–15 November 2026 📩 Contact: ronan.cariou@oniris-nantes.fr / meg-anne.moriceau@oniris-nantes.fr
