The Paris Brain Institute (ICM) is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher holding a PhD in neuroscience, biochemistry, bio-engineering, molecular/cellular biology to join the team of Drs. Marie-Claude Potier and Stéphane Haïk (Alzheimer’s disease and prion diseases at ICM) and work under the direct supervision of Professor Kaj Blennow (Gothenburg University, Sweden), who is also a visiting Professor at the ICM. The three-year position will take place in a new group, focusing on developing new biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and related conditions using advanced techniques such as second-generation immunoassays (SIMOA, MSD), mass spectrometry and protein misfolding amplification (RT-QuIC). Total funding is provided for three years by the Fondation Recherche Alzheimer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement new biomarker assays for Alzheimer's disease and related conditions -Utilize advanced techniques such as second-generation immunoassays, mass spectrometry, fully automated immunoasays and protein misfolding amplification (RT-QuIC). - Collaborate with other members of the ICM and Professor Blennow's team in Gothenburg - Communicate research findings through publications and presentations
KNOWLEDGE:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field such as neuroscience, biochemistry, bioengineering, or molecular/cellular biology
- Strong background in biomarker development and analytical techniques such as immunoassays and mass spectrometry - Fluency in English
- Experience with data analyses (statistics, R) - Having trained as experimental animal user will be an advantage

Au sein du Laboratoire Recherche et Analyses Parfums et sous la responsabilité du Responsable Recherche Analytique, vous réalisez des travaux de recherche analytique centrés sur les ingrédients de parfumerie et apportez votre expertise scientifique auprès des différents clients internes.
A ce titre, vos missions principales seront les suivantes :
- Réaliser l’analyse d’ingrédients de parfumerie par GC-MS/FID et GC-O/MS
- Mener des projets de recherche analytique dans le domaine des ingrédients de parfumerie
- Réaliser les analyses sur les techniques haute résolution du laboratoire : GC-HRMS et LC-HRMS/CAD/UV
- Conduire des travaux d’élucidation structurale appliquée aux substances naturelles
- Effectuer une veille scientifique et technique du secteur
- Rédiger des rapports d’analyse en français et/ou en anglais et communiquer les résultats aux différents clients internes en les accompagnant
- Mettre à jour nos bases de données et bibliothèques spectrales
- Participer aux démarches d’amélioration continue du Laboratoire
- Assurer la maintenance de premier niveau sur les appareils et piloter les maintenances préventives/curatives avec les fournisseurs
Profil :
Docteur.e en Chimie Analytique (BAC +8), vous disposez d'une solide expérience dans le domaine de la parfumerie et/ou des produits naturels. Vous êtes expert.e en analyse des substances volatiles. Une expertise de l’analyse des substances non-volatiles constituera un plus, et une expérience en élucidation structurale (MS) et une maîtrise des logiciels de déconvolution et de caractérisation seront appréciées.
Rigoureux(se), doté(e) d'esprit d’initiative, autonome, organisé(e), vous disposez d'un esprit d’analyse et de synthèse.
Maîtrise de l’anglais oral et écrit.

The ProteoSeine Mass Spectrometry Facility within Institut Jacques Monod is supported by both the CNRS and Université Paris Cité as an advanced instrument facility for the benefit of the research community in biology. Our mission is to provide cost effective, state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based services to scientists for quantitative proteomics and structural analysis of biological molecules. We welcome and service all customers from academia and industrial background whether within CNRS and Université Paris Cité or outside. To this end, we are committed to the development of innovative and customer-oriented workflows that encompasses sample preparation, chromatographic separation, mass spectrometry acquisition and data analysis.
THE POSITION
We are currently offering a one-year temporary position as analytical scientist in mass spectrometry (IE, CNRS grade), the position is renewable.
You will work at the interface between biochemical analytics and mass spectrometry. You will be accountable for sample preparation, running instrumentation, data analysis and reporting.
Your responsibilities cover all analytical aspects related to operations including:
Timely and effective communication with customers, presentation of data and scientific support to address biological questions; continuous improvement of analytical testing procedures to achieve high technical and scientific standards with special focus on efficiency and quality; supervision of analytical equipment, performance and execution of functional tests, planning maintenance activities and writing user procedures; literature research and participation to scientific articles redaction will be also part of your tasks.
The facility is running a TimsTOF Pro2 instrument (Bruker Daltonics) in coupling with an Evosep One system (Evosep) for bottom-up proteomics and a SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS instrument (Waters) in coupling with an Acquity UPLC M-class chromatographic system (Waters) or a TriVersa NanoMate (Advion) for intact mass analyses of proteins as well as native MS developments. Dedicated licensed software running on powerful multi-core servers are used to handle data analysis.

Position :
The incumbent is responsible for the management and administration of the Bioanalytics Section and reports to the
Director of Scientific Operations.
The MASS SPECTROMETRY UNIT undertakes analytical studies on pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, nutraceuticals,
medical devices and chemicals. Analytical studies include development and validation of methods and the bioanalysis
of substances / metabolites / biomarkers of in vitro or in vivo relevance. These studies are partly conducted to GLP
standards.
The section is equipped with LC-MS/MS for quantification and a LC-Q-Tof for Met-ID or omics in general.
Qualifications and experience:
- PhD or equivalent experience, in analytical chemistry or related discipline, with 5 years’ experience in the
practice of MS/MS and HR-MS analysis.
- Strong up-to-date knowledge and educational background in bioanalytics and extensive hands-on experience
with bioanalytical instrumentation (H/UPLC, MS/MS, HR-MS)
- Strong skills in technical writing
- Sound knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines, both local and international
- Experience in working in a GLP environment
- True experience in managing people
- Used in team planning preparation
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
